Mode of Action:
Berberis vul.: Rheumatic paralytic pain in shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers, legs, and feet. Intense weariness and lameness of legs after walking a short distance.
Calcarea phos.: Rheumatic pain from a draught of air with stiffness and dullness of the head. Pains in joints and bones.
Causticum: Acts in chronic rheumatic affections with tearing, drawing pains in the muscular and fibrous tissues, deformities about the joints, progressive loss of muscular strength, tendinous contractures, stiffness between shoulders, and dull pain in the nape of the neck. Left-sided sciatica with numbness.
Rhododendron: Rheumatic tearing in all limbs, especially the right side; worse at rest and in stormy weather. Stiffness of the neck.
Rhus tox.: Rheumatic pains spread over a large surface at the nape of the neck, loins, and extremities; better with motion. Pain and stiffness in the small of the back; better with motion or lying on something hard; worse while sitting. Stiffness of the nape of the neck. Sciatica; worse in cold, damp weather, at night. Numbness and formication after overwork and exposure.
Dosage Advice:
Acute cases: Take 10 drops in some water, 3 times a day. Once improvement starts, reduce the dose.
Chronic cases: Take 10 drops in some water, 2 times daily before meals for at least 12-16 weeks.
Complementary Remedies:
In acute rheumatic polyarthritis: Use B6 and B1.
In acute rheumatism of joints: Use B6.
In prolapse of intervertebral disc followed by sciatica: Administer B69 frequently or in alternation.
In intercostal neuralgia: Use additionally B29.
For rheumatism of neck & back: See B52.
For sacral back pain in women due to pelvic diseases: Use B55.
