Ingredients: Acidum nitricum 6x, Berberis vul. 3x, Lycopodium clav. 4x, Uva ursi 2x, Sarsaparilla 3x.
Indications: Helps relieve symptoms of renal calculi, including colic and urinary tract infections.
Mode of Action:
Acidum nitricum: Crampy pain from kidney to bladder. Scanty, dark, offensive urine with a smell like horse’s urine. Cold sensation when passing urine, with burning and stinging. Urine may be bloody and albuminous.
Berberis vul.: Inflammation of kidneys with haematuria. Sticking pain in the kidney region radiating around the abdomen, hips, and groins. Numb, bruised sensation. Sensation of incomplete urination. Urine with thick mucus and bright-red, mealy sediment. Frequent urination with burning in the urethra when not urinating.
Lycopodium clav.: Kidney affections with red sand in the urine, backache in the renal region, worse before urination. Pain in the back before urination, relieved after flow. Slow urine flow, requiring straining. Retention, polyuria at night, with heavy red sediment.
Uva ursi: Cystitis with bloody urine. Pain, tenesmus, and catarrhal discharges. Burning sensation after discharge of slimy urine. Calculous inflammation with frequent urging and spasms of the bladder. Urine contains blood, pus, and tenacious mucus with clots in large masses.
Sarsaparilla: Renal colic with scanty, slimy, flaky, sandy, or bloody urine. Severe pain at the conclusion of urination. Urine dribbles while sitting. Renal colic and dysuria in infants. Pain radiates from the right kidney downward. Tenesmus of the bladder; urine passes in a thin, feeble stream.
Dosage Advice:
Take 10-15 drops diluted in water, 2-hourly (up to 6 times a day) in acute pain.
Once improvement occurs, reduce the dose to 3 times a day.
Complementary Remedies:
In prostatic hypertrophy with cystitis: Use B13.
In colics due to calculi: Use B19 or Bakson Bakunil syrup.
In cystitis, cysto-pyelitis, and bacteriuria: Use B35 in addition to or alternation with B14.
In albuminuria & nephrosis: Use B63.
