Key Ingredients & Their Actions:
Agaricus muscarius (12x) ? Jerking, Twitching, and Trembling:
Agaricus musc. is particularly helpful for chorea (involuntary, jerky movements) and twitching. It addresses numbness, tingling, and neurogenic pain often accompanied by cold sensations. It’s useful in spasmodic affections, general paralysis, and neurotic skin troubles.
Ignatia amara (3x) ? Hyperesthesia and Clonic Spasms:
Ignatia amara causes increased sensitivity of the senses and is effective for clonic spasms (sudden jerking of the muscles), especially of the face and lips. It can also be helpful for jerking of limbs on falling asleep and other symptoms related to nervous tension or emotional upset.
Lachesis (20x) ? Neuralgia and Restlessness:
Lachesis is known for its action on neuralgia (nerve pain), particularly on the left side of the face. It relieves pain running up the head, neck, and coccyx. It’s also helpful in alleviating muscle stiffness and discomfort from remaining in a fixed position (e.g., sitting or lying down for too long).
Magnesium phos. (8x) ? Cramping and Twitching:
Magnesium phos. is indicated for muscle cramps, sciatica, twitchings, and tetanic spasms. It is also useful for neuralgic pains and involuntary shaking of the hands. It’s a go-to remedy for conditions like Paralysis Agitans (Parkinson’s disease), as it calms spasmodic movement.
Phosphorus (4x) ? Ascending Paralysis and Trembling:
Phosphorus addresses ascending paralysis, which starts at the fingers and toes and moves up the limbs. It also helps with burning sensations, weakness, trembling, and numbness in the arms and hands. This remedy is useful when fatigue and weakness accompany nerve or muscle conditions.
Zincum met. (8x) ? Twitching and Convulsions:
Zincum met. helps with twitching, chorea, and convulsions, especially when they are triggered by fright or suppressed eruptions. It’s effective for conditions involving trembling, fidgety feet, and muscle twitching, which often occur in chronic diseases affecting the brain and spine.
Mode of Action:
These ingredients work together to address a range of nervous system symptoms, including muscle twitching, convulsions, and involuntary movements.
Agaricus musc. and Ignatia amara target twitching and spasms related to nervous excitement or sensitivity.
Magnesium phos. and Zincum met. address more severe muscle spasms and chronic conditions like Parkinson’s or chorea.
Lachesis and Phosphorus help with neuralgic pain, nerve inflammation, and the paralysis that often accompanies nervous disorders.
Dosage:
8-15 drops in a little water, 2-3 times a day.
For acute cases with frequent fits and continual convulsions, take every 1-2 hours.
Once improvement starts, reduce the dosage to 2-3 times a day.
Complementary Remedies:
For irritation of blood vessels, consider B39.
For anaemia in children, B44 and B42 may be helpful as complementary products.
